OPEN SHOW - A CALL FOR ARTISTS
No Theme – No Limits
2011 Winter Sprinkler Factory Exhibition

The Artists' Group of the Sprinkler Factory will present our third open juried show in celebration of the 2011 winter holiday season. Artists in the Worcester area and beyond are invited to submit up to three original works of art created within the past two years. The exhibition will be held in the Sprinkler Factory Gallery, a large, well-lit space that retains the industrial charm of its manufacturing roots. Selection of submitted work will be done by members of the Artists' Group.
The Sprinkler Factory is an emerging artists' colony in the heart of Worcester. It houses a diverse group of accomplished painters, printmakers, potters, glass artists, jewelers, fiber artists, and artists in other media.
Theme:
For this exhibition there is no theme – no limits on artists' creativity. We are seeking outstanding and impressive visual works of all kinds.
Eligibility:
Artists may submit up to three works created within the past two years. Fine art and fine craft in any media is acceptable, but work must be appropriate for display in a fine art/craft gallery. Media may include, but is not limited to, oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, collage, photography, video, ceramics, metal, fiber, glass, wood, and stone.
Important Dates:
Completed entry forms are due by 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Notification of acceptance will be by Saturday, November 12. All accepted work must be hand-delivered to the second floor Sprinkler Factory Gallery on Saturday, November 19, or Sunday, November 20, between noon and 4:00 PM.
The show will run from Friday, December 2, 2011 through Saturday, January 14, 2012. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 3, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
Unsold artwork must be picked up Saturday, January 14, 4:00 – 6:00 PM or Sunday, January 15, noon – 4:00 PM. There will be a small reception for artists and their families during art-pick-up hours on Saturday. Customers that purchased artwork are also welcome to attend the reception to pick-up their pieces.
Size Limits:
In order to accommodate as many artists as possible, the suggested size limits are as follows: for two-dimensional work, a maximum width of 80 inches and a maximum height of 80 inches, including frame. For three-dimensional work, a maximum width of 36 inches, a maximum depth of 24 inches, a maximum height of 72 inches, excluding base, with a weight limit of 150 pounds.

All works should be suitably framed, mounted, or otherwise prepared for display in a fine art/craft gallery. Work that arrives in unacceptable or unprofessional condition will not be hung.

Entry Fee:
There is a $10 fee for each submitted work. No cash or credit cards will be accepted. Please make your check payable to AGSF. AGSF stands for the Artists’ Group of the Sprinkler Factory and is a non-profit organization.

Sales:
A commission of 20% will be charged on all sales.
Submission Procedure:
Jurying will be done from digital images submitted on a CD or e-mailed. No slides will be accepted.
If submitting a CD, print your name and e-mail address on the CD. Include the following files on the CD:
• Image files in JPEG format. You may include up to two views of each artwork.
• A brief biography in WORD having a *.doc extension or PDF format.
• An artist's statement in WORD having a *.doc extension or PDF format.
• A list of artwork titles with the corresponding names of image files.

Mail the CD, along with your completed entry form and a check for the jury fee, to the address shown on the entry form.

A drop-off box will be provided at the front door of the Sprinkler Factory at 38 Harlow Street for those artists who would prefer to deliver their submissions in person.
If submitting by e-mail, then email your image files and document files to

SprinklerFactoryArtShow@gmail.com. In your email also include your name, e-mail address, phone number, the title of each artwork, the type of media, the dimensions, and the price (or Not For Sale). Mail your check for the jury fee to the address shown on the entry form or place your check, in an envelope, in the drop-off box located at the Sprinkler Factory.

Liability:
The Artists' Group of the Sprinkler Factory will use the utmost care in handling artworks. However, the Artists' Group will assume no responsibility for damaged or lost artwork. Each artist is responsible to insure his/her work, if desired.
