New Series of Classes and Workshops for Women!

WHO: Women Who Design ... 

Have you ever dreamed of making art, but didn't know where to begin?

Would you like a sense of satisfaction and have fun in the process?

 

WHAT:  An experience for your mind and soul. Escape the winter blahs and join us for enjoyable art experiences! 

This is a multi-media program designed by local artist and Princeton Arts Society member Andrea Driscoll, to help women to express their creativity by achieving a relationship with artistic materials.

 

Daytime Multi-Media Workshops begin on February 16, 2012

6 SESSIONS on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am., to include:

  • Printing:  Learn to design and print cards, and use prints in collages and drawings or paintings.
  • Collage:  Experience the freedom of creating new designs from paper and other materials to create a unique piece of art.
  • "Green Art":  Help the environment by creating something new from something old. Paints, collage, beads and fiber are part of the fun. Bring an object (tray, lamp, box, etc.)  to re-purpose with your own  flair.

      Cost: $120 for six sessions, plus some basic supplies. Payment is due one week before the class begins.

 

Acrylic Painting Classes begin on February 16.

4 Week ClASSES on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30, 

  • Instructional acrylic painting classes for beginning and intermediate students,  and are limited to 10 students for maximum attention.
  • You will learn techniques in color, design, brush strokes,
    composition and more, while developing your own style in a relaxed setting.
  • Bring canvases, brushes, acrylic paints. A supply list will be provided, with a coupon for CC Lowell's Art Supplies. Some floor easels will be available in the studio, or bring your own.

       Cost: $100, due 1 week before the class begins.

 

WHERE:  Classes will be held in the Princeton Arts Society space on the first floor of the Community Building, 10 Boylston Street, Princeton. For more information and a supply list, please contact Andrea at andreadriscoll@hotmail.com

 

Andrea Driscoll, a Sterling resident, is a graduate of Lesley University. She has taught at the Worcester Art Museum, as well as having diverse classroom experiences ranging from grade 1 to graduate school. She is a member of the Princeton Arts Society, Arts Worcester, and the Sterling Garden Club. Her work is shown locally at both arts groups.

Andrea also works as a non-profit organizational and fund-raising consultant.

She donates a portion of her class fees to "Culture Leap" a non-profit organization that provides cultural experiences for children and supports teachers with professional development through the Worcester Public Schools.
