Artwork by Lisa Regopoulos on Display in Princeton

The artwork of Princeton Arts Society member, Lisa Regopoulos of Fitchburg, is currently on display at the Princeton Branch of the Barre Bank and Bagg Hall (Princeton’s Town Hall). The exhibit includes a wide selection of landscape, floral, and still life pastel paintings. In Lisa’s words, ”The pure pigment of pastel enables me to paint what I feel in an immediate way because the rich, vibrant colors do not lighten or darken.  I consider myself a colorist and use color in a bold, expressive way, seeing colors that are not necessarily there and enjoy heightening hues to lead the eye.“

One of the paintings on display, “Salem Street, North End,” is from her night time series of city scenes completed on Lacarte paper.  According to Lisa, “The drama and bold, contrasting colors of the night captivate me and enable me to translate the feeling of the scene to paper with the use of value contrast, mark making, color, and light.”  This work was awarded the Best in Show Award at the Pastel Painters of Maine’s, 13th Annual International Show last year.

In addition to the Princeton Arts Society, Lisa is also a member of the Gardner Area League of Artists (GALA), the Leominster Art Association, the Monadnock Artists Association, the Pastel Painters of Maine (Signature Member), and the Pastel Society of New Hampshire where she received the Jack Richeson Award at their 4th Annual National Show last year.

Please stop by the Princeton branch of the Barre Bank and Bagg Hall (Princeton Town Hall) during their normal business hours to view the exhibits which will be on display through the end of March.  Both originals works of art and giclee prints are on display and available for sale.
